As Director of Operations/Strategy, you’ll own the operational excellence behind our platform while playing a key role in shaping exmox’s strategic direction. You’ll take responsibility for selected key business areas and lead high-impact strategic initiatives directly with the executive team to create new growth opportunities and build the operational capabilities that enable the company to scale. You’ll work closely with the executive team, Commercial Leadership, Product, Engineering, Analytics and Marketing to continuously improve operational performance, customer satisfaction and platform quality. You’ll work alongside experienced leaders who joined exmox from companies including King, Activision Blizzard, Goodgame Studios, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Bain & Company. This is a role for someone who loves building scalable operations, thinking strategically, empowering leaders and using data to make better decisions, not simply managing day-to-day execution. What You’ll Own • Operational Ownership: Take ownership of selected business-critical operational functions. Build scalable structures, improve execution, define KPIs and develop leaders across these areas. • Operational Excellence: Continuously improve operational performance through better processes, automation, data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration. • Operational Performance: Define and track the KPIs that matter. Build visibility across operational performance, identify bottlenecks early and continuously improve quality, speed and efficiency. • Strategic Planning & Business Development: Partner with the executive team to identify growth opportunities, evaluate strategic initiatives, support organizational design and translate long-term strategy into executable operational plans. • Growth Initiatives: Lead special C-level projects end-to-end that open new avenues for scale, like entering new geographies or launching new products. Turn strategic bets into reality by owning them from the first business case through to launch and measurable results. • Scalable Operations: Design processes that scale with the company. Eliminate unnecessary complexity while creating enough structure to enable sustainable growth. • Leadership Development: Coach and develop leaders across your areas of responsibility. Build high-performing teams with strong ownership, accountability and continuous improvement • Cross-functional Execution: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Analytics, Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure operational insights directly influence product improvements and business decisions. • Automation & AI: Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI across operational workflows. Reduce manual effort, improve consistency and enable teams to focus on higher-value work. • Preparing exmox for the next stage: Help build a multi-year strategy and an operational organization capable of supporting the next phase of international growth while maintaining speed, quality and customer trust. What Success Looks Like Within your first 12 months, you will have: • Helped define and execute key strategic initiatives that accelerated company growth. • Identified & prioritized growth initiatives and revenue lever for Exmox to keep scaling. • Built scalable, KPI-driven operational organizations. • Increased operational efficiency and quality across key business functions. • Introduced meaningful automation and AI into daily operations. • Improved platform integrity and customer experience through better processes and tooling. • Established Operations as a trusted strategic partner across the business. • Built clear reporting and operational dashboards that enable faster decision-making. • Developed strong leaders who create ownership throughout their teams. What You Bring • Experience in Digital Consumer Platforms: You’ve built and scaled operational teams within wider tech, AdTech, mobile gaming, performance marketing or other digital consumer platforms. You understand the importance of customer experience, platform integrity and operational excellence in businesses where speed, scale and trust directly impact commercial success. • Experience in Strategy & Operations: You’ve led complex operational organizations, business transformation projects, consulting engagements or strategic initiatives in fast-growing technology companies. • Operational excellence: You have built processes, KPIs and operating models that helped organizations scale without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. • Data-driven decision making: You’re comfortable using metrics to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives and measure impact. • Leadership capabilities: You know how to build trust, coach leaders and create accountability while empowering teams to make decisions independently. • Cross-functional collaboration: You naturally connect teams across Product, Engineering, Analytics and Commercial to solve problems together. • Flexible mindset: You thrive in ambiguity. One quarter you might be redesigning a critical business function; the next you could be leading market expansion, evaluating acquisitions or building entirely new capabilities. • AI & Automation mindset: You actively explore new technologies and leverage AI and automation to improve operational performance. • Excellent communicator: You communicate clearly, influence stakeholders at all levels and simplify complex operational topics. We offer a flexible hybrid model in Hamburg, Germany, working from home on Mondays & Fridays and joining us in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.
